The first article I chose about bioethics was the one about genetic engineering. In the beginning of this article, a brief overview is given about genes. After the brief overview, the process of genetic engineering is explained. The process goes like this: first, you must seperate the DNA strands from the DNA; then you must transport the DNA to another cell. This is done by cutting away the DNA from the gene and placing it into a vector. The article goes on to talk about multiplying genes and the uses of genetic engineering. The article also talks about gene therapy and talks about theories that can be used from this and how it can help fight diseases.

There are a lot of thing I like about this article. Mainly, I like how it is written in an easy-to-read, easy-to-understand format. Its starts off with the basics of genes and then slowly builds up into the full process of the genetic engineering. Something I found the most interesting about the article was the piece on gene therapy. It explains that gene therapy is the "genetic modification of humans". I find this interesting because you can basically play "God" with your offspring. Something I wish the article would have had was opposing view points. Different opinions and facts on the matter would have given me a greater understanding of the matter. But all in all, there was a lot of good information in this article and I can definetly use it in my research.
